The Art
Studio "EST" was founded in October 1990, by the painter and performance artist
Costas Evangelatos.
The connecting
link between the members of the group Art Studio "EST" is structured on
the long-time friendship and common aesthetic orientation in the field
of visual expression.
Main
goals of the group are:

Free expression,
independent from the "marketing" which is prevalent in contemporary society.

Opposition to
every form of bad taste, to barren formalism and to the standardisation
of art in general.

The attempt
to distribute the works of the group members by means of an "In Natura"
exchange (a work-for-exchange)
-
The ceaseless
attempt of the members, through research in all forms of expression, for
constant renewal of the group itself and of each member individually.

Regular showings
of works by the group in exhibition spaces.
-
The organisation
of lectures, discussions and the reporting on current art issues.
The expressionistic
actions of the members related to the preblems -aesthetic, conceptual,
qualitative, ecological- that determine the creative scope of each artist
as well as the general cultural spectrum of our times.
